Baseband reaches the router across your own Wi-Fi. Nothing about your network is sent anywhere else, and there is no account to create.

What stays on your phone
Short version: all of it. Baseband has no account and no server of ours in the middle.
Where things are kept
- Router name and address: the app's database on the phone
- Admin password: the phone's secure storage
- Messages and usage: the same local database
- Delete the app and all of it goes with it
The two things that leave
The speed test asks Cloudflare for a file, because that is how you measure a connection. A diagnostics report goes wherever you choose to send it, and you see it before it goes.
What is never collected
- No analytics and no advertising
- No location tracking. Android needs the location permission only to read the Wi-Fi name
- No copies of your messages, numbers or passwords
The beta signup form stores your name, email and optional router model so we can contact you about the beta. To limit spam, we also store a salted hash of your IP address and attempt time; these records are cleared on the next signup attempt after 24 hours. This is separate from the data the app keeps on your phone.
